Solo Utah Road Trip Zion National Park & Horse Shoe Bend

The hike itself is very steep, with short sections of level ground through beautiful Echo Canyon. It ascends nearly 2,000 feet during this trek; this is definitely not a trip for the casual, ridiculously-out-of-shape tourist. That means…even though I’m a fitness coach…I almost perished on this hike!

Solo Utah Road Trip Bryce Canyon National Park

I woke up early and said goodbye to Grand Staircase. I drove an hour to Bryce Canyon Nation Park. I decided to hike the Peek-a-Boo Trail upon recommendation and it was definitely a winner! I also did couple other smaller hikes and loved every minute; although I thought I may die at one point! The switchbacks of Bryce canyon ain’t no joke people! be warned!

Solo Utah Road Trip Grand Staircase Escalante

My hike today was to Lower Calf Creek Falls. Wow is all I have to say! Its a small, first come first serve campground, and you MUST arrive early to grab a spot, it fills up by lunch! But, since I camped 3 miles away on Free BLM land, I got there bright and early and since it was easily the prettiest place I’d ever seen, I snagged a great spot right on the creek next to the bridge that crosses to the trailhead AND the bathrooms. Change of plans, I’m not leaving after todays hike….score!

Solo Utah Road Trip First Night

First day was a mess of a success! I found my “Ho-Tel” for the night. Little issue with the van rental and a lack of a credit card….note to self…get credit card before traveling. I had reserved a full size van but ended up with a compact instead…but she’s perfect! I’m camping on the side of the road in somewhere Utah, looking at the sunset …

Why I decided to Solo Travel

I’m Andi and I’m about to embark on one of my biggest adventures to date; Solo Traveling!! I’ve always loved to travel. My parents used to take me everywhere they went; business trips, family trips wherever…I was there. As an only child, I didn’t always have the most interesting vacations, but now looking back, seeing the “off the beaten path” places they drug me to, …
